The Sundial Bridge in Redding, CA is one of my favorite subjects. Enjoy and happy week-end!

Black and White 04

On my walk I discovered the first fall leaves. This one was a prime candidate for a Black and White image. By eliminating the color the structure of the leaf is highly visible.

Enjoy and happy photographing!

Black and White 03

I photographed this California Oak tree at the edge of a group of Redwood trees. I thought right from the beginning that this would be a great black and white image. The later afternoon lid the tree beautifully and the trees in the background formed a great contrast.

Enjoy and happy photographing!

Black and White 02

David and I were photographing on the Monterey peninsula. The image reminded me of the pictures of Edward Weston who photographed in this area.

Enjoy and happy creating!

Black and White 01

Black and white photography is still the “queen” of photography. This week I challenge you to create dive different Black and White images. I do not recommend that you change the camera setting to “Black and white” I rather would do that in post production.

This is part of the mission San Juan Bautista in Central California. I did not like the color image at all. To converts this image into BnW, I used Nik Silver Efix pro, a Photoshop plug-in. You can download a trial version from the Nik webpage (http://www.niksoftware.com).

Enjoy!
